THE MAXIMUM EFFICIENT FURNACE AVAILABLE IS ABOUT 96%. *AIR CONDITIONING (SEER) SEASONAL ENERGY EFFICIENCY RATIO* AIR CONDITIONERS MANUFACTURED PRIOR TO 1992 COULD HAVE A (SEER) RATING AS LOW AS 6.0 .THE GOVERNMENT NOW HAS MANDATED A MINIMUM (SEER) RATING OF 13.0 IN 2005 WHICH IS MORE EFFICIENT THAN WHAT MAY BE COOLING YOUR HOME. HIGH EFFICIENT AIR CONDITIONERS WILL HAVE A (SEER) RATING OF AT LEAST 13.0 OR HIGHER. THE MAXIMUM EFFICIENCY AVAILABLE HAVE A (SEER) RATING OF ABOUT 18.0 . *HEAT PUMP HEATING (HSPS) HEATING SEASONAL PERFORMANCE FACTOR* HEAT PUMPS ALSO HAVE EFFICIENCY RATINGS. THE GOVERNMENT MANDATED STANDARDS FOR HEAT PUMPS NOW TO AN EFFICIENCY RATING OF ATLEAST 7.5 (HSPS). MOST HEATPUMPS MANUFACTURED BEFORE 1992 HAVE (HSPS) RATINGS OF 5.0 OR BELOW. TODAY A (HSPS) RATING OF 7.5 OR HIGHER IS CONSIDERED "HIGH EFFICIENT". THE MAXIMUM EFFICIENCY AVAILABLE HAVE A (HSPS) RATING OF ABOUT 11.5 . |
